back in 2012 few had heard of cider in the netherlands, let alone drank it. we started making cider and PREACHING why cider was a great addition. We wanted the Dutch, and for that matter anyone, to be able to enjoy real tasty cider. In our view cider is made from 100% freshly pressed juice, not from concentrate, flavourings and water. We believed and still beieve that anyone should be able to enjoy real cider, And it seems we are starting to succeed. quite a few have folowwed in our tracks and nowadays real cider, BE IT BEAR CIDER OR OTHER LOCAL CIDERS, can be enjoyed in many bars, restaurants and can be bought in the better shops!
back then Bear Cider was born on the estate of Beerze in Beerze (Ov.), a small town in the east of The Netherlands, hence the name: beer is the Dutch word for bear, not for beer! Bear Cider is made from apple juice from carefully selected apples and yeasts. It has a well balanced taste, because we use various apples in our own recipe: sharps, sweets and bitters.
Bear Cider not only tastes great (we think, but we have won many prestigious awards too, so others must like it too! ), it also is a natural product that contains relatively few calories and is gluten free. We love apples and cider. And we love to have you taste our product!
